Four ways your body was made to create life.
It is so important to know our bodies. To understand how they work inside and out. Please don’t misunderstand. I am the last person to know medical terms and all of the inner workings of my cells. When I say I have learned about my body and understand how it works, I mean I have listened and paid attention to what it tells me.
I lived many years not understanding the intricate details of my body. I have taken medicine to mask the cramps and even adjusted birth control to make sure I wasn’t on my period during my next vacation. I took control of the messages being sent through my design.
Our bodies were created to work perfectly. While there are so many factors in our environment that have impacted that precision, at our core our design is perfect.
I have been blessed to learn some of the details that make my body so informative. I am so thankful to have connected with my body and learn the details of how it informs us of our ability to create life.
One.
Our cervical mucus was created to have channels that direct the sperm toward the egg during ovulation. When you aren’t within that peak time for achieving pregnancy, you will find that the channels look more like building blocks under a microscope.
If you begin noticing, you will see that fertile mucus feels differently. It is healthy to have mucus that is clear, stretchy, and slippery during the most fertile days of the month. Part of its design is to wash out the less viable sperm that are entering your body. Amazing.
Two.
Our body will naturally delay ovulation due to stress. You may be experiencing signs of ovulation, such as increased cervical mucus and once it goes away, you believe that ovulation has occurred. You know this has been a stressful time, such as a job change, or a time of grief. By surprise, your fertile cervical mucus returns later in your cycle, often during a time when the stress has dissipated. This is a good sign that your body didn’t ovulate during that first period of fertile mucus.
You were created to release eggs during a time that is most conducive to achieve pregnancy. If you are paying attention to your body, you will recognize these adjustments in your cycle.
Three.
Our fallopian tubes oscillate when an egg is released. We are designed to maximize our ability to collect the egg and bring it to the uterus. I am still amazed by this. When I first learned about this amazing design I was so hopeful. Our bodies experience trauma and it can impact the delicate nature of the tubes that carry our embryo to its home. We were created with two, increasing our ability to procreate. And they move.
When I see images of the uterus, I imagined the ovaries to be connected to the fallopian tubes. I had no idea of the wonders within our bodies. The abilities of these intricate details.
Four.
Our reproductive health can be determined by the color of our menstrual blood and the length of our cycle. This time of the month, our period, is often hidden and seen as a hindrance to our everyday life. If we pay attention, it gives us so much information about our health. It is so important to the creative cycle. Unfortunately, we don’t talk about this enough. Instead we try to avoid looking at it or recognizing when something isn’t right. Many times we don’t know that a bright red period that comes on heavy is a healthy period.
Our period allows our body to prepare the space where you will carry life. The home for our growing babies. The color, consistency, and flow can be indicators of your reproductive health and how well that space is preparing for your child. Pay attention.
It is so important to know our bodies. To get in tune with the science and miracles of how it is created.
Slow down. Pay attention to the stuff on your TP.
Recognize the aches and pains within your lower abdomen. And other places in your body.
Write down the things you notice about yourself each day. Keep a journal with a new page each month.
With time, you will begin to connect with your cycle. You won’t need to use ovulation predictor kits or birth control. You will know when to expect your flow and when to get it on. (heyyyy!) You will have the knowledge of your body and it’s amazing creative ability.
Listen to it. Begin reading. Educate yourself.
Your body wants to create life. It wants to fulfill your desires to become a mother. It will tell you the changes you need to make. Trust it. Trust yourself.
